Introductory Course
for Healthcare Professionals

  • Group classes for up to 10 employees at a time.

  • Injury reduction and body mechanics training for staff.

  • How to perform a 1-minute client pre-screen for strength and range of motion and use this assessment to identify the level of transfer assistance needed.

  • Best practices for blocking and guarding a client during a transfer.

  • Efficient and safe utilization of equipment such as gait belts, slide boards, wheelchairs, and walkers.

  • How to transfer a client with multiple diagnoses (i.e., history of stroke and a recent leg fracture).

  • Review of anatomy and how to prevent repetitive use injuries.

Advanced Course for Complex Transfers for Healthcare Professionals

  • Group classes for up to 6 employees at a time who already completed the Introductory Course.

  • These individuals will be taught how to complete complex transfers for clients who have more severe mobility deficits.

  • Advanced techniques for rolling bariatric clients, T-bone transfers, slide board transfers, and transfers on/off more complex surfaces (cars, toilets, uneven surfaces etc).

  • This will open the marketability of the office/business and promote inclusion of all clients despite any mobility concerns.

Deluxe Package for Healthcare Facilities  

  • This class is designed for larger healthcare facilities to become self-taught and provide consistency for all employees. 

  • The class will be designed for the population each facility serves. 

  • All complex transfer techniques will be taught to a select "transfer experts" in concentrated classes.  Then the "transfer experts" will be the instructors for their coworkers. Classes will be audited by Dr. Spears and real time feedback will be given for improvement and consistency. 

  • Check-ins and audits for the self-sustained program will be provided as needed.
